The iPAD SP1 AED’s award-winning design is geared towards ease of use and saving valuable seconds. The SP1 comes with pre-connected dual-use electrode pads which, unlike with most defibrillators, can be used on adults and children. It also has voice prompts which automatically adjust to background noise, and clear illustrations which light up to aid rapid comprehension. An optional CPR voice prompt system guides untrained users on performing CPR at the touch of a button. Because of its ergonomic design and high-quality components, the iPAD SP1 defibrillator is widely used by the NHS ambulance service and other emergency services.
Unlike many other AEDs, the iPAD SP1 can be switched instantly between adult and paediatric mode using the same set of pads, enabling the SP1 to be safely used on children under 8 without having to waste valuable minutes or seconds finding and switching pads. This also saves the expense of having to purchase 2 different sets of pads whilst eliminating any concerns about using an adult shock on a child.
The AED’s pads are also compatible with the defibrillators carried on front line NHS ambulances via a simple plug-in adaptor, streamlining the handover of a patient to advanced care. Data can be retrieved from the defibrillator via an SD card.
The iPAD SP1 can deliver at least 200 shocks on 1 battery, which has a standby life of 5 years. Pads last for 30 months. The unit conducts daily, weekly and monthly self-checks and has an IP55 rating for protection against dust and water. The unit comes with a 7 year warranty which extends to 10 years if registered with iPAD online.
The SP1 is available in both fully and semi-automatic models. The iPAD SP1 comes with 2 sets of electrode pads (1 pre-installed), 1 battery, 1 carry case and 2 AED starter kits: each containing a CPR facial barrier, 2 dry wipes, tough cut scissors, 1 pair of gloves and a razor.
